Halachos and Laws of Shabbat for Women

by Rabbi Yosef Shusterman

These series of lectures on Shabbat were given in the weekly women's classes. They cover the laws of Shabbat in general, the laws of kiddush, and the concept of what is considered to be work on Shabbat is discussed. Rabbi Shusterman goes over the 39 different categories of work or melachos, and discusses how it applies to today's life. Shabbat is the foundation of Jewish belief. By observing Shabbat, a Jew testifies to the fact that G-d created the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. It shows that the Jew believes that the creator of the world is G-d.
