Halachos and Laws of Pidyon Haben (Redeeming the Firstborn Son)

It is a Mitzvah for every first born son to the mother has to be redeemed. When Hashem killed the first born Egyptians, the first born Jews became Hashem's and they became sanctified. If first the borns wouldn't have sinned with the golden calf, they would have been working in the temple rather than the levi'im and cohanim. Since the firs borns are sanctified, the have to be redeemed.
